What proactive health includes

Preventive visits focus on what is going right and what is worth watching, rather than reacting to an acute problem. Your physician reviews your family history, personal risk factors, lifestyle, and any current symptoms. From there, the two of you build a plan for screenings, immunizations, and lifestyle adjustments appropriate for your age, sex, and risk profile. The goal is simple: catch things early, when they are easier and cheaper to address, and avoid problems before they start where possible.

Recommended screenings

Specific screenings depend on your age, family history, and risk factors. Common categories include cardiovascular markers (blood pressure, lipid panel), metabolic markers (fasting glucose, HbA1c), and cancer screenings (such as colorectal screening starting at 45 for average-risk adults). Your physician will walk you through which screenings are reasonable for you right now and the cadence at which they are typically repeated. When in-person imaging or procedures are needed — for example, a colonoscopy or mammogram — we coordinate referrals to local providers.

Building your prevention plan

A good prevention plan is not a static checklist. It evolves with your age, risk profile, and results from prior screenings. After your consultation you will receive a summary with the screenings recommended, the rationale for each, and the suggested follow-up schedule. Your patient portal keeps track of what has been done and what is due. We can also coordinate with a primary care provider you already see, or serve as your ongoing preventive touchpoint if you do not currently have one.
